Local Schools Visit the Supreme Boats Factory Manufacturing Day

Students from five local schools get a behind-the-scenes look at the Supreme factory.

MERCED, CA (October 4, 2019) – The Supreme Boats factory was a buzz with excitement today as over 50 students from Merced Scholars Charter School, Delhi High School, Delhi Middle School, Stone Ridge Christian School, and Atwater Valley Community School toured the manufacturing facility as a part of Manufacturing Day. Manufacturing Day is a national event that’s been put on for several years to bring attention to manufacturing and the opportunities that it presents to students.

This year’s group was particularly engaged as students got an overview of the entire boat building process from the ground up. After the event one student said, “It was really cool to see how hard these guys work and how much they do behind the scenes. I could really see myself doing something like this when I graduate.”

Taylor Alandzes, Student Advocate at Atwater Valley Community School said, “Our school was delighted to be a part of Supreme’s Manufacturing Day. Our kids are not frequently afforded opportunities like this and to be one of the schools asked to participate was an honor,”

When asked about manufacturing day Bill Yeargin, Correct Craft’s President and CEO stated, “Every year our team gets excited to host students for Manufacturing Day. Teaching students about the many opportunities manufacturing has to offer while showing them how much we believe in all our products is really rewarding.” Yeargin added, “Students who visited our companies were able to increase their knowledge about the marine industry and hear about Correct Craft’s culture of ‘Making Life Better!’”

Manufacturing Day represents many core values held close at Supreme Boats, after all, 90% of our factory employees physically work on every boat that leaves the facility. Manufacturing affords individuals economic opportunities while allowing them to pour into their communities, this of course falls directly within Supreme’s charge to make lives better.
